Originally started in 1992 by Sloan to release Sloan records, Murderecords came to be the taste maker on the East Coast for independent Canadian bands like Eric's Trip, Hardship Post, The Inbreds, the Local Rabbits, Thrush Hermit, and the Super Friendz. When Sloan signed with Geffen, the record label that launched some of our favourite bands slowed to a complete halt.
It has just been reported that when Sloan releases their 8th studio album, "Never Hear the End of It," September 19th, they will also be re-launching Murderecords, which is now based in Toronto.
Sloan guitarist Jay Ferguson says there are two reasons behind the breath of new life in the label.
