CBC's Most Important Decision...Ever!

Posted by Craig Norris on Jun 30, 2006

This fall, CBC TV hopes to launch a Canadian version of "The One: Making A Music Star". Much noise has been generated about its decision to simulcast the American version throughout the summer.

  • Yes, "The National" will be pre-empted on Tuesdays.
  • Yes, our public broadcaster is making some controversial moves.
  • Yes, everyone's pissed off.

We're all missing a much more serious topic, though; Who will host the damned thing?

On my show this Saturday, we explore some options for the CBC. If memory serves, there was even talk of re-animating deceased CBC celebs from yesteryear. Check it out Saturday at 12:00 AM ET on CBC Radio 2.

I should state for the record that having never seen the show, I don't even know if there is a host. But just for fun...

Alive or otherwise, who should host the Canadian version of "The One"?

I'm thinking Kevin Drew from BSS should host it.

    without doubt

All efforts should begin in earnest to resurrect Pierre Burton. Though the price of weed would go up (supply and demand), the show would atleast be highly entertaining and educational... at least while Pierre is on.

    The Canadian One Host

So it appears that there is a show called the Canadian One - a new Canadian Idol I guess - and it appears it needs a host.

I have a couple suggestions for hosts:
    1. Andrew Chapman - he's a new and upcoming comedian working the Canadian Comedy circuit - he's young, energetic, cute, Highschool girls want to date him and college girls want to marry him. Mom's want their daughters to date him. He's quick on his feet and is always a great host.

    2. Morgan Waters - after having great success on CBC's The X he was able to go on to have continued success and high ratings with his Morgan Waters show. He's quirky and fresh

    3. Ryan Belleville - Fresh faced and hilarious Ryan quickly became one of Canada's funniest and hottest new comedian - now spending time in California Ryan has appeared at Just for Laughs 2 years in a row. High energy and charm.

I recommend all these guys equally, they are funny, charming and professional.
